The IRS Parking garage located in Chamblee, Georgia is managed by the GSA (General Services Administration) and is owned by the United States Federal Government. The structure was built in the 1990s and is a two-way post-tensioned slab with cantilevered sections.

The garage had experienced significant sagging around the perimeter of the structures elevated slabs between support columns. The engineering firm hired by the GSA was brought in to investigate why the sagging was occurring and the cause of premature failure of support elements and waterproofing elements. It was determined that the slabs were under-supported and the spans were too wide for the structural design of the elevated slabs.

Restocon was the chosen contractor by the GSA to perform repairs to the structure through a qualification selection process. The perimeter slab on grade and soil around the concrete columns of the first floor was removed to allow for the enlargement of the footings and the columns themselves. New concrete support walls were installed throughout the 1st and 2nd level floors. Perimeter and interior edges of elevated slabs had a new steel support system put in place that included footers, steel columns, steel beams and brackets. All structural steel support was then coated in an epoxy primer and a Cafco cementitious fireproofing. Concrete spall repair and epoxy crack injection were also used to bring the structure back to the original design intent.

Restocon opened and repaired over 150 damaged post tension cables and post tension anchor end assemblies. Concrete washes, Lymtal expansion joints on all floors and a Lymtal waterproof membrane were installed on the entire 3rd floor and perimeter of 2nd floor. New floor drains and main drain lines, including utility pipes were installed along with a new LED lighting system.
