structural repairs

Parking Garage #50 is located in downtown Tallahassee, FL.  It serves state government workers primarily in The Florida Department of Education Building. Restocon Corporation was tasked with performing structural repair and waterproofing services on the facility beginning in May 2020. Restocon performed the repairs as a subcontractor to Cook Brothers, Inc.

The repairs consisted of patching spalled concrete on horizontal and overhead surfaces, as well as concrete columns. Cracks in both structural members and retaining wall panels were injected with epoxy resin. Horizontal expansion joints at all levels were replaced along with associated nosing materials.

Following repairs, all horizontal surfaces of the top floors were prepared by shotblasting, and a urethane vehicular traffic system as manufactured by BASF was installed. All exterior vertical surfaces of the spandrel beams, as well as vertical surfaces of the concrete retaining walls, were coated with an acrylic coating system as manufactured by BASF.
